Still not sold on why you need a professional headshot?
Here’s 5 great reasons from the folks at Career Contessa.
It conveys your professionalism. If you look professional, potential clients, investors, collaborators, etc. that don’t know you personally are going to be more likely to agree to that first meeting.
A good headshot gives people an idea of your personality before they meet you. A smile portrays approachability. A serious look portrays determination. Make your expression match your personality.
It reminds business contacts who you are if they met you in passing at a conference or business function. This little cue makes it more likely they will accept your “friend” or “follow” request.
A current headshot gives people an idea of what you look like now. I recently went to a CEO breakfast and two of the presenters’ headshots were taken years ago. There was an immediate disconnect. It’s not good to surprise people in this way. It sends a message of inauthenticity.
It supports and enhances the skills and experience on your LinkedIn profile, making you stand out from the rest. One hint specific to LinkedIn is to look to the left so you are literally looking at your profile.
It makes you feel good to look your best. Having a quality image of yourself to share with your professional peers boosts your self confidence, and it can even inspire you to share more of yourself with others, take a few risks, and overcome work-related challenges.
Ready to get your headshot on the calendar? Here’s the details:
The basic portrait package starts at $250 for a 1-hour shoot. Additional time is billed at $75 per half hour. We'll shoot various poses and backgrounds, to give you plenty of options to choose from. Within a few days of the shoot, you'll receive proofs of the best shots, then get to choose the finalists that will be given special retouching, to make you look your absolute best. You'll end up with 2 retouched shots. You can get additional retouched shots for $25 each. Expect the entire process to take a week to 10 days from the shoot date.
We offer special rates to groups and offices. For these, we'll come to your office and set up a portable studio or other suitable space. Each person will get about 10-15 minutes in front of the camera, and 2 finished, retouched photos. Typically, everyone will be shot against the same background, in the same style, which makes them match, and helps to streamline the process. The rates are lower, and vary depending on the number of people.
